How Small a Whisper: 21 Evangelistic Sermons
By Roger Carswell
Kregel Publications. 171 pages
ISBN 0 8254 2373 2

Roger Carswell is one of our most sought-after and helpful evangelists. He combines a sound and clear presentation of the biblical gospel with a warm and gracious heart.

This book brings to the general public a selection of his evangelistic sermons. The range of messages is helpfully wide. It includes straight declarations of the cross and of Christ, plus material on such topics as the backslider and the need for sexual purity. Vivid illustrations from history and everyday life litter the chapters and make the truths of Christ very accessible and easy to understand. Though not presented, I would think, in a way to give directly to non-Christians, the book will not only warm any Christian's heart but also sets an example which could help many a hard-pressed pastor to improve his evangelistic preaching.
