This is a short and straightforward summary of received wisdom on the running of small evangelistic meetings in your private home. Or even in somebody else's. Derek Cleave has considerable experience of this kind of evangelism, and shares with us many useful tips as well as some of the thinking and justification behind the home-meeting approach.

It is perhaps fair to say that there is little new in what he says, but in some ways that makes it all the more valuable: who wants novelty for the sake of it? While giving handy tips for hosts and cooks and speakers, he is also refreshingly unprescriptive about the format of the meeting; Bible study, 'professional' speakers, well-known Christian, video, testimony, or something else. He also gives ideas for 'titles' or subjects for the evening.
