Don't judge a book by its title! This is not a compilation of 'bon mots' from the wise and infamous of the last century.

It is, in fact, a collection of eight rather good sermons, each of which take a memorable saying from a celebrity figure or occasion as their starting point. They range from such sayings as Martin Luther King's: 'I have a dream', to President Clinton's: 'I did not have sex with that woman.' The messages are biblical, making wise and rich contrast with the contemporary world, and driving home the good news of Christ and the challenge of Christian living.
