Chris Wright is a robust champion of the relevance and glories of the Old Testament. Asked to give the Bible readings at Spring Harvest/Word Alive stressing the grace, love and salvation of God, he did not rush to the New Testament but chose to illustrate these themes from selected passages in the book of Deuteronomy.

The four chapters entitled 'Knowing God', 'Loving God', 'Confronting God' and 'Imitating God' demonstrate God's purpose in the Old and New Testaments to form a people of his own who are called into existence for the blessing of the rest of the world. The unique experience of the one and only God's revelation and redemption bring to his people special responsibilities to live out before the nations the life of love, obedience and compassion which reflects the character of our God.
