By Roger Ellsworth Evangelical Press. £7.95
If the title does not whet your appetite, then surely the subtitle will: 'Discovering Christ in the Song of Solomon'.
Believing that all the Scriptures testify of Christ, and that the Song of Solomon is vividly portraying the love between Christ and his church, Roger Ellsworth will delight readers who are hungry for a fresh encounter with their Lord.
This is not a commentary on the Song of Solomon, and does not even try to work systematically through the book. Instead, it takes different aspects of the character of Christ and his relationship with his people as prompted by verses and phrases in the Song. On occasions, some readers may feel the links are slightly stretched, but in the majority of cases, I felt secure in the author's clear and warm handling of the text.
