Through the testimony of those involved in the work, this book documents the establishment and growth of Betel in San Blas, a suburb of Madrid. Betel (Spanish for Bethel) is a drugs rehabilitation ministry under the oversight of WEC. Since its foundation ten years ago, the work of Betel has flourished and many similar centres have been started across Spain and other countries. Plans are underway to start a centre in England. The church now has a congregation of 450.
The book itself is divided into three sections together with a lengthy introduction. the first section describes the work itself, documenting its growth from the early days and the ethos of its founders and workers. Section two gives the personal testimonies of 16 people who have been helped, but God's grace, through the ministry of Betel. Finally, the third section is a collection of five articles relating to various aspects of the work of Betel, such as information on AIDS and the difficulties of overseas workers adapting to a different culture.
