Former Scottish National Party MP Lisa Cameron claims ‘Christians are barely tolerated in the SNP’, and alleges she was ‘bullied’ because of her faith.
Cameron was elected as MP for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow in the 2015 General Election. However, in 2019, she was the only SNP MP to vote in favour of an anti-abortion motion, which she described as voting ‘on my conscience’.
She received significant criticism following this decision, eventually causing her to defect to the Conservatives in 2023. She was speaking in a Telegraph interview.
