Turkey: coming to Christ
In 2014, Turkey banned YouTube after negative comment about leading politicians.
However, Turks have found ways around
the ban and viewing has boomed, including of
Kanal Hayat programmes. (In 2007, Eurasian
Christian Television / Kanal Havat launched
what became the first evangelistic television
channel to broadcast 24/7 in Turkish.) Follow-up teams visit viewers who want to meet face to face. They bravely travel countrywide, never
knowing what
reception
awaits
them.
Overwhelmingly, they are greeted with courtesy and lots of questions. In 2013, 470 visits
were made and 155 Turks came to Christ.
More viewers came to faith at home on their
own. Many are added
to
local churches.
Broadcasts now extend
to
include Azeri,
Turkmen and Uzbek.
