The founder and president of Walk Thru the Bible Ministries, Bruce H. Wilkinson, has become hooked on a little prayer tucked away in the first book of Chronicles.

The prayer was made by a man called Jabez. His name means pain, and he was given the name because he gave his mother a lot of pain in the process of being born. And, having been saddled with the name, its meaning seems to have preyed on his mind somewhat. So, even though his prayer is basically for more territory to live in, Jabez wants to acquire and enjoy it without incurring personal pain. Who wouldn't?

The Central European Foundation exists 'to make known the meaning and values of historical biblical Christianity in the cultures of Central Europe.'

Its desire is to enable, encourage and equip Christians throughout Central and Eastern Europe, by influencing Christians 'to think biblically about their worldview and encourage integration of faith and the whole of life.'

60% of the world's population live there, but less than 5% are Christian. East Asian economies are growing rapidly, promising to make an ever-increasing impact on the rest of the world. It is a strategic time to be in Asia.

We asked Malcolm Jones to interview David Ellis, National Director of Overseas Missionary Fellowship UK (OMF) , to explore the life of the Church in East Asia, and discover the part being played by OMF in that part of the world.
