In Depth:  Julie Skelton

Colin Buchanan is, in his own words, an ‘interesting hybrid’ — former teacher and Australian children’s television presenter, country music recording artist, and a Pied Piper figure proclaiming Christ to thousands of children, as the songwriter who added the refrain ‘Baa Baa Do Baa Baa’ to the words of Isaiah 53.6.

During July, Colin toured the UK. At the Keswick Convention, he captivated parents and children by bringing his own brand of musical humour combined with straight-talking biblical truth. Julie Skelton interviewed Colin for EN.

The other week I found myself among the audience of celebrities, record executives and prize winners at the annual Britannia Music Awards or the 'Brits'. It's very unusual for my name to be picked for anything, but as it happened, I had casually voted for certain nominees on the 'Brits' website several weeks previously.

My name was then automatically put into a draw which I promptly forgot all about, until a phone call from the local radio station complete with on-air interview to confirm that I was, for once, a winner. I went from being an ordinary housewife to rubbing shoulders with the stars at the Earls Court all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza.

Previous generations of believers have many lessons and truths to tell about God's dealing with their lives.

It is a great blessing to find that members of your family have kept a record of these so that we can enjoy them and learn from them.
