The Revd David Holloway, a founding member of the Christian Institute (CI), has celebrated 50 years as vicar of Jesmond Parish Church, Newcastle upon Tyne.

He has presided over the growth of the church from small beginnings in 1972 to a flourishing fellowship that has planted two further churches in the region. As well as being a founding member of CI, he was involved in setting up the Anglican International Development (a Christian humanitarian charity providing support in South Sudan and Kenya). He was also a General Synod member from 1975 to 1990 and served on the Board of Social Responsibility. It is understood he continues to be involved in all these organisations.
