New role for Tom Creedy

Tom Creedy is taking up a new role as Publishing Director at IVP. Evangelical publisher IVP counts Amy Orr-Ewing, John Stott and Tim Chester among its authors, and says it is ‘committed to producing books that are faithful to the Bible, share the gospel with the world, and equip the church for mission and discipleship’.

IVP also produces books for an academic audience under its Apollos imprint, and has a global impact and reach through worldwide distribution licensing and partnerships.

On October 23, Inter-Varsity Press UK announced that its distribution facility and offices in Nottingham will cease operations in January 2016.

IVP UK came under the management of SPCK in early October 2015 to ensure the survival of the IVP UK publishing imprint with its highly respected conservative evangelical publishing ethos.

For over 40 years, the volumes in IVP’s The Bible Speaks Today (BST) series have sought to help Christians better understand the Bible and how it should impact their lives.

The Message of Joshua by David G. Firth, is no exception. Published in September, Firth’s commentary constitutes the final book of the Bible to be expounded, seeing this renowned series – which began in 1968 with John Stott’s Only One Way on Galatians – finally reach its completion. Alec Moyter takes time to reflect on his decades spent as series editor for The Bible Speaks Today: Old Testament series as he speaks to Elizabeth Neep of IVP.
