It all started for Festive ten years ago.

An eclectic mix of people with a heart for Further Education Colleges and Sixth Forms sat around a table and prayed for God to take what they had and multiply it.

In May Festive launched its 2016 free give away campaign, with the prayer that even more sixth formers will pass on copies of the evangelistic survival manual Beyond Beans On Toast this summer.

Last year, students and chaplains ordered bundles to distribute at a variety of creative events. Through leavers’ BBQs, CU parties and ‘results day’ stalls, an incredible 1,000 sponsored copies were put into the hands of students at 30 colleges and sixth forms across the UK!

Back in the May edition of en, you may remember a piece about ‘Beyond Beans on Toast’. Born out of a desire to reach soon-to-be-uni-students, Festive worked with 10ofthose to create this evangelistic ‘survival manual’.

Interwoven between glossy recipes and top tips for starting university are a selection of testimonies from students who went to university and met the living Lord Jesus. These real-life stories help to explain the Good News in simple language and point the reader on to explore the claims of Christ further.

I wonder how David felt as he stood in Goliath’s shadow, slingshot in hand with just five smooth pebbles? Pure fear?

The full realisation that he was puny and the one he was about to fight was a literal giant? No doubt he should have been petrified of what was in front of him but he knew the saving power of God behind him.
