Ireland: abortion protest
Christian Institute / Christian Concern
Up to 90,000 pro-lifers took to the streets of
Dublin in March to urge the country to vote
‘no’ in the 25 May referendum on abortion.
The Constitution of
Ireland’s Eighth
Amendment pledges to ‘defend and vindicate’ the equal right to life of the unborn
and the mother, ‘as far as practicable’. The
referendum is being held to decide whether
or not to repeal the amendment.
