A key figure in campaigns to ban smacking
was jailed for sexually abusing a child in the
1960s in February.
Peter Newell admitted to five
indecent
and serious sexual assaults on a 12-year-old
boy. He was
the
former co-ordinator of
the Association
for
the Protection of All
Children charity, also known as Approach.
