A centenary celebration weekend was held on the last weekend of June at Bethesda Baptist Church, Ipswich.

Back at the turn of last century, when Bethesda Baptist Church, outgrew its building the challenge was immense. Humanly their resources were meagre, but the church gave itself to concentrated prayer and God provided in the most unexpected way. An elderly member of the church died, and her son, Arthur Page, offered to provide a new church building in memory of his mother Susannah. The new building was opened in July 1913 with the prayer that the central theme of Bethesda’s ministry would be Jesus Christ.
