So much politics in church?

Good question! Why indeed?

Of course, I could immediately get a little defensive and say: ‘Well, there is politics in every area of life, and that is not necessarily bad. Political organisation of some kind is an inevitable expression of human organisation and social interaction.’ I could also say that many churches of which I have been a part have had blissfully little in the way of political shenanigans.
